have some. My great grandparents were, James Best and Elizabeth Shampnor. My
great great grandmother, Mercy Shampnor and Amanda Best, a daughter of James
and Elizabeth are buried there and some aunts and uncles too.
I checked out the church and its history because of them.
One of the church's founders, James joined the church in January of 1857 and
remained faithful until his death, over a period of forty-two years.
I took some pictures of the inside. James was one of
Rutland's first settlers in the 1840's. He was a blacksmith there. (Click on the X in upper
