Rutland Center Church and Cemetery Committee

- Call to order by Myron Bacon, Co-chairman
- Members present: Joan Wethal, Jean Gefke, Chuck Anthony, Phil
Peterson, Rebecca DuBey, and Myron Bacon
- Information Shared
- Donations to the project are deductibe: Myron provided a tax booklet containing the following
information:
- A contribution is deductible only if made to, or for the use of, the following qualified organizations:
- (1) The United States, a state, a local government, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. possession for exclusively public purposes.
- Accounts can be set up with
Jeannette Walker, the Rutland town treasurer to receive the contributions.
She will set up several accounts:
- (1) a general fund
- (2) specific subfunds (i.e. cemetery improvement,
church renovation, windows, etc.)
- Donations should be sent to:
- Jeannette Walker, Rutland Town Treasurer
- 838 Center Rd.
- Stoughton, WI 53589
- Storage Building: Phil Peterson has a building we can use to store the contents of the church during rennovations.
- Article soliciting donations: Myron suggested that we need to have someone write an article that will publicize the fact that we are now receiving donations for renovation of the church.
- Grants: Becca agreed to research grants that might help us with our project. Myron will be checking with DOT to see if they have anything available.
- Building Assessment: Becca agreed to find someone who has been recognized by the Historical Society as capable of doing a building assessment that meets our needs. She thought there were firms that might provide that service at no charge.
- Master Plan: the members agreed that we need to develop a master plan outlining the order of rebuilding the church.
- Next Meeting July 16, 2003, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Rutland Center Church
