     Promotion/Fund Raising

1. Greet Milwaukee Tour Group: help welcome and assist group coming in July Chuck, Jean and Jerry They are interested in our building and our plans to restore it.
2. Contact artist Matthew Slaat: contact him about his proposed art show/project at the church Jean Hanson Matthew said he'd like to do a show in April or May of 2005
3. Plan Civil War genealogy program: Plan at Senior Center with Dr. Richard Zeitlin of the Wis. Veterans Museum Jennifer Ehle Could be sponsored with Senior Center or Historical Society. He could bring computerized database that might be of interest to local people.
4. Make donation envelopes: Address c/o Dawn George Mark Hanson Prepare donation envelopes to accompany church brochures.
5. Obtain additional grants and do more Fund Raising _________________________ Once the cost of completing the first phase is known, we may need to do some fast fund raising to cover costs.
6. Write letter to Friends of the Church donors _________________________ Once we know our exact plan for the summer and the costs, we want to send a letter to all previous donors. Letter would include copy of our 2004 annual report and a reminder to send annual membership fee. Letter will also solicit new committee members.
7. Plan October Info Sharing: Plan another gathering at the church _________________________ Could be similar to last year's gathering, with Jerry Neath providing historical context
8. Type donor mailing list Mark Hanson This list will name everyone who has contributed to the project and or shown interest in our work.
9. Recruit new Committee members _________________________ We need to expand our committee so we have more people to share the load.


     Church Renovation

10. Obtain State approval of Phase One: Contact Jason Ekstrom about obtaining approval for Phase One Myron Bacon Our contract with the Architecture Network says they will be responsible for all approvals.
11. Store pews, pulpit and stoves Myron Bacon Call Dawn or Milt Spoerle, who we think volunteered space
12. Clean out church: when emptied ___________________________ Organize a work crew to clean out the structure.
13. Stabilize the building: with cables or cross bracing Mike Schmudlach We need to agree on best method and then obtain bids for this work.
14. Raise building, replace rim joists and build new foundation with brick ledge for old stone. Mark and Jean Hanson Contact contractors to discuss project and obtain bid.
15. Tuckpointing the Walls: Contact Jim Wallace Mark and Jean In event that raising the building and building a new foundation is deemed too expensive, restoration of the existing foundation may be required.
16. Develop window repair techniques: determine what will be needed to restore the windows Mike Schmudlach We're thinking we can farm the sashes out to competent local woodworkers, perhaps with guidance from a professional like Mike
17. Refinish pews: contact Jim Zimmerman or other refinishers about techniques and cost of refinishing Jennifer Ehle We agree dipping is not the preferred method. How and who might be recruited for the project?
18. Contact area craftsman John Diefenthaler for advice on refinishing pews and pulpit Jennifer Ehle John is a carpenter who specializes in working on old homes and does work like this in the winter.
19. Obtain woodworking advice and assistance: Contact Donald Cornwell, a retired teacher who has woodworking skills, about repairing our windows and perhaps other items. Myron Bacon We will be contacting a number of professionals who might provide help or direction for our project.
20. Obtain windows and carpenter skills: Contact Rick Kraemer about helping with our project Chuck Anthony Rick is a builder who could help us get new original-looking windows, if we decide to go in that direction. He might be able to help in other ways
21. Confirm building contents will be insured when moved to storage ___________________________ When the pews, pulpit and stoves are not in a town-owned building, will they be covered?


     Landscaping/Cemetery

22. Develop landscaping design: Look for a company to do plan for the church grounds Myron Bacon Our contacts with the UW Landscaping Dept. did not produce any results.
23. Place posts at corner of our new property Chuck Anthony, Mark and Jean We want to be sure the farmer who will be leasing the adjacent land does not plant our new cemetery space.
